The Kanneliya-Dediyagama-Nakiyadeniya rainforest is the second largest primary forest area in Sri Lanka and renowned for its watershed value. The forest occupies the area between the two rivers, the Gin Ganga and the Nilwala Ganga.

Witness over a hundred bird species, sixteen of which are endemic to Sri Lanka, such as the Green-billed Coucal, Blue Magpie, Spotted-Winged Thrush and over fifteen species of endemic freshwater fish.
